María Parra Trio will present her new album «Intuition» with a concert at the Puerta de Toledo Cultural Center, part of the 21Distritos program of the Madrid City Council, on May 25.
María Parra, renowned pianist, has found in music a constant challenge. After years dedicated to perfecting her style in the field of classical music, she decided to take a turn and express her most intimate emotions through her own compositions. This search of hers led her to create “Vision”, her first album with original works of hers, and then to “GEA”.
Now, María Parra presents “Intuition” with her formation, the María Parra Trio, made up of double bassist Miguel Rodrigáñez and drummer Gonzalo Maestre. This new project fuses her love for classical music and jazz, a genre she studied at the Taller de Músics de Barcelona. “Intuition” thus becomes a compendium of influences and fusions, where modern and traditional jazz, chamber music and pop touches intertwine.
The María Parra Trio offers a unique proposal that transcends the labels of conventional jazz. Her compositions take on a different texture, fusing the freedom of jazz with the classical structure of chamber music. With “Intuition”, María Parra and her trio create global, elegant and personal music, which unites tradition and future in an intimate and emblematic format.
The album “Intuition” is the pianist’s fifth and the first of her formation, reflecting years of evolution and performances at prestigious festivals and clubs. With this project, María Parra continues to challenge herself and take her music to new horizons, demonstrating her ability to reinvent herself and connect deeply with her audience.
