Maria Parra Trío will offer a concert during the Canal Jazz cycle.

Maria Parra is a pianist and composer who comes from classical music and now presents herself as a creator. Her compositions are brought to jazz thanks to two great musicians, Miguel Rodrigáñez and Gonzalo Maestre, very prominent in the genre, who have seen in her the possibility of expressing themselves in a different way than what she had been doing. Jazz without labels or exclusions, current jazz of the 21st century that unites the best tradition with the most hopeful future and with international projection.

The chosen repertoire includes works taken from Maria Parra’s last two albums, Vision and Gea, adapted for trio, as well as works composed with multiple influences in mind.

Maria Parra’s compositions taken to this intimate and emblematic format of jazz become a compendium of influences and fusions where we could soon glimpse nuances of chamber music within the new neoclassical or crossover current, such as the most modern jazz, the more traditional, and even songs that are sung by themselves thanks to the lyricism of some pieces and the mastery of each of its members.
